There are 3 ways to replace missing teeth: bridges, dentures and implants

  • A bridge is made of at least 2 crowns (caps) and one or more false teeth which are all connected. The entire structure is cemented into place, with the capped teeth supporting the false ones.

  • Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth. Partial dentures replace only some teeth and use the remaining teeth for support and retention while complete dentures replace all the teeth in one jaw. Unlike implants or bridges, dentures usually rely partially on the softer gums to support them and so typically move more and feel looser compared to bridges or implants. They also cover more parts of the mouth and therefore feel more uncomfortable. Nevertheless, they are a cost-effective option in replacing teeth.
