General Dentistry

Comprehensive Care for All Ages

General dentistry encompasses a wide range of services to maintain your overall oral health. From routine check-ups and cleanings to fillings and extractions, our skilled team provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. We are committed to ensuring your comfort and addressing all your dental needs with a personalized approach.

  • We perform a wide variety of exams and tests to address specific concerns or complete comprehensive exams for patients of all ages. We aim to educate our patients about any areas of concern, discuss different treatment options and their costs, and then work with them to create treatment plans developed specifically for each patient.

For our pediatric patients, we recommend parents bring their children in within 6 months of their child’s first tooth erupting so we can prepare them for what to expect as more teeth erupt and how to best clean their teeth and prevent cavities and gum disease. We monitor their dental development and can recommend treatment or referrals to appropriate specialist if any problems arise.

  • We welcome nervous adult and pediatric patients to our office. We strive to create a comfortable and stress-free environment for all our patients. We have TVs above each dental chair and take time to walk our patients through different parts of the dental exams and treatments.

  • Fillings replace the missing tooth parts of teeth damaged by decay (cavities), from fractures or chips, or parts lost from grinding or acid wear. White or silver fillings can be placed depending on the situation.

  • Crowns cap over teeth to reduce the risk of fracture of weakened teeth such as those with large fillings, root canals, or large chips or cracks. They can be made from porcelain, zirconia, and/or metal.

Preventative Dentistry

Preventing Problems Before They Start

Preventative dentistry focuses on protecting your oral health through proactive measures. Regular check-ups, cleanings, and sealants help prevent cavities, gum disease, and other dental issues. Our goal is to keep your teeth and gums healthy, saving you from future discomfort and costly treatments.

  • Dental cleanings remove plaque, tartar and surface stains which can cause teeth yellowing, bad breath and diseases like cavities and gum disease.

Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria which can harden into calculus, also called tartar. The bacteria inside the plaque make acid, which cause cavities, and other irritants, that lead to gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis).

Even with diligent brushing and flossing, plaque tends to collect in hard-to-reach areas and hardens into calculus which require professional cleaning to remove. If tartar is left to accumulate it grows down under the gums toward the bone, leading to bone loss (periodontitis), which can cause recession, loose teeth and eventual tooth loss.

  • Gum disease usually does not cause pain until its later stages and by that time, some irreversible damage may have already occurred and treatment by then can only preserve what is left. Consequently, regular exams and cleanings are recommended to catch signs early and provide treatment before permanent damage occurs.

At our office, we provide professional cleanings, monitor for signs of gum disease and treat affected areas to control disease and prevent further damage. We strive to work with you to create a personal oral hygiene routine supplemented by regular check ups and cleanings  to follow up on your progress and maintain healthy teeth and gums.
